A friend wants to build an adult website. Her content and topics are not hardcore or "triple x", but she wants to keep her identity hidden. She is looking at offshore hosting services. We are in the USA.

I've read some of their information and many guarantee anonymity, but I don't know anyone who has used offshore hosting.

Where are the best offshore hosts? Should we try European hosting service?

Stay away from Santrex is all that I can say. Their prices are tempting but their service was always slow. Often you had to wait 2-3 days for simple tickets. Then they were constantly down due to attacks. I recently received notice that my services had expired and what could the do to get me back. All reviews that I have read recently imply that things haven't changed.

For adult and gambling content the best that you can do is opt for an offshore hosting service.

Most of the European-based hosting services are good, but those in the UK somewhat expensive.

Most affordable, and also reliable, are in the Netherlands and Germany, and prices starts at $2.99 USD for small projects. Do a research for "offshore hosting" but omitting the terms "XXX" or "adult" in your query because these terms return the most expensive providers.

On a side note, make sure that a hosting service located in Europe has servers in the same continent because some may fool you with this.

I think you should look at Russian bulletproof hosting services if your friend wants complete anonymity. Most offshore services are not dependable so you must do a lot of research before buying a service. Have a look at webmaster forum marketplaces, they offer all kinds of hosting solutions so you are likely to get what you are looking for. Don't forget to read customer review and do not hesitate the contact the seller to clarify your doubts.

Russian hosting would be the way to go. You can get a cheap VPS or Dedicated server and host from there. I used to host a MP3 Download site and I got over 100 DCMA Complaints but my hosting company just ignored them completely

I hear China's the best place for business off shore hosting but not sure about adult sites...

I hear Chinese hosting has slower speeds and their support is shit. Better just to go to Russia or the Neverlands

I am currently running a site with them and everything from setup to up time has been very good. There are a few times when the site has slowed a bit but for your typical shared hosting, this is super.
